The book we had to read was a text that all teachers should read and embrace. The content is not just for White Teachers. Any teacher should be able to relate to the concepts. Some individuals may have gotten offended but maybe the content raised questions that one needs to answer within themselves. People need to step out of their comfort zone because the world was not created for one person (You).

This book has definitely taught me many things. I have learned how White people view Black people. When I started reading this book, I thought it was pitiful how all Black students were poor! I immediately took offense to it. As I continued to read, I saw that, unfortunately, the book has some truths to it. I learned how to deal with diverse issues within my own race. This book has been a tool with some ideas that could be put to use in my teaching career.
